Aedon.Accounting at the Charity Finance Summit 2025

Published:30 October 2025

The Charity Finance Summit is one of our favourite annual events. Sharp discussions and big questions. And one topic that dominated every room: the new charity SORP coming into force from January 2026.

Held at 133 Houndsditch in London, the event brought together around 450 charity finance professionals, sector leaders and suppliers. It wasn’t just an exhibition — it was a working conference. People went to talks, took notes, and came straight to our stand to ask: “How do we actually do this?”

We spoke to 40–50 people throughout the day. Many already knew about revenue recognition changes. Some had heard whispers about volunteer reporting. But few had a system that could actually do it.

That’s where Aedon.Charities comes in. Built specifically for charities, it already does what the 2026 SORP requires:

  • Multi-dimensional accounting (no more spreadsheets to track funds and projects)
  • Every transaction tied to a fund and activity
  • Volunteer hours and ESG metrics recorded alongside financial data
  • Analysis codes for revenue contracts and leases
  • Partial VAT automatically applied based on charity status

Competition was tougher here — Sage, other big names, major banks. But the conversations were deeper, more technical and far more productive than previous years.

And yes — the magician made a return, helping pull people in for those first questions.
