Ledger Entries Explained

When a Transaction is posted,  all the financial information  is captured in the Ledger Entry object  This makes the Ledger Entry as a very powerful record that will satisfy most information requirements on its own.

However, it can be further enhanced in two important ways. Firstly, by adding 10 totally flexible Analysis Codes and secondly, by combining information from related objects: Account, Product and the Analysis Codes themselves.  These related objects will often have many custom fields and all of this additional information can be included in the reporting  by using the right report types.

All the information on the Ledger Entry or the related Account, Product or Analysis object is “free”.  No additional data entry effort is required to use these fields either for summing or filtering data.
