Creating a Sandbox with Aedon.Accounting
Copying a Salesforce production environment to a partial copy sandbox involves creating a new sandbox and populating it with a subset of data from the production environment where Aedon.Accounting is installed. Here are the steps to accomplish this:
Create a Partial Copy Sandbox:
- Log in to your Salesforce production environment.
- Navigate to the Setup area.
- In the Quick Find box, type “Sandboxes.”
- Select “Sandboxes” and click on “New Sandbox.”
- Choose “Partial Copy” as the sandbox type.
Configure the Partial Copy Sandbox:
Specify the necessary configurations for the partial copy sandbox, including features, users, licenses, and other settings. Customize this based on your requirements.
Data Subset Selection:
During the request process, you’ll need to specify the data subset you want to include in the partial copy sandbox. This typically involves selecting specific objects and a subset of records for each selected object.
Data Copy Process:
Salesforce will initiate the data copy process and populate the sandbox with the selected data subset from the production environment.
Access and Validate:
Once the copy is complete, you’ll receive notifications, and you can log in to the partial copy sandbox to access and validate the data.
Post-Copy Configuration:
Review and configure any settings, data, or configurations specific to the sandbox environment to match your needs for development, testing, or training.
Test and Develop:
Use the partial copy sandbox for testing, development, or any other activities as needed, keeping in mind that it contains a subset of production data.
It’s also crucial to plan and communicate effectively with your team to minimize disruptions during the data copy and transition process.
