dataloader.io
dataloader.io is a third-party Salesforce tool that connects to your organisation and allows mass insert, updates, upserts and deletions.
dataloader.io should not really be a daily tool and should be used where a lot of new information needs to be added, updated, or deleted into your Salesforce org. This would usually be for adding new leads to Salesforce or updating many records as a one-off scenario.
For Aedon, you would primarily be importing your open balances from your existing accounts package and that’s quite a far bit more complex task than something like dataloader.io could handle. For this we use an add-in to Microsoft Excel called XL Connecter. Please see our guide on XL CONNECTER for more information about this tool and how it is used, a Partner version is currently being developed internally and will be made available upon completion.
Tip
An upsert is a cleverly named term, combining Update and Insert it does what you would expect. When you load a list as an upsert instruction, if there is data already found it will update the record with the new information and if a record does not exist it will insert the new data and create the record.
